Membership Benefits
ASSOCIATE MEMBER PROGRAM
The SMCDA offers associate membership to companies and vendors doing business with Dealers and Dealerships. Associate members receive bulletins, can participate in the annual golf tournament, attend important seminars and classes relating to the automotive industry, and receive a yearly updated Dealer Directory, listing each Associate Member.
The Orange County Auto Show
... the first show of the model year This annual event, which grows larger in attendance each year, provides a showcase for hundreds of cars, trucks and mini-vans, and is one of the primary means of stimulating car sales. SMCDA-PAC Political Action Committee The Southland Motor Car Dealers Association has created a political action committee to provide a funding mechanism to support or oppose city and/or county candidates and issues that may directly affect your dealership. DEALER ALERTS These mailings inform dealers of imminent crimes or criminals that are currently disrupting the automotive industry. If you have any police-reported activity that other dealers should know about, contact the Association office at (562) 595-4326. ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT The Association holds its annual golf tournament every summer as an opportunity for dealers and associate members to get out of the office and onto the green to play a round of golf together. This is an excellent way to meet with the dealer members. ANNUAL MEETING & INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS Each year in January, following the election of the new SMCDA Board of Directors, an elegant dinner is held for both dealers and associate members. A Prestigious event! INFORMATION TRAINING SEMINARS The education programs are designed to enhance job skills, assist in regulatory compliance, update labor and employment regulation, as well as inform the dealers about issues such as IRS Cash Reporting, DMV Compliance, Smog Training Updates, Automotive Training Classes, and much more. LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATION In assisting and monitoring Local, State and Federal legislature, the Association Director regularly attends Legislative meetings in Sacramento. SMCDA’s representation insures that information is relayed to dealers members regarding the out-come of important issues, and the reviewing of new laws under consideration that affect new car dealers. MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS As the need arises, both Dealers and Associate members are invited to attend meetings in an open forum concerning dealer issues such as environmental awareness, product knowledge and requested subject matter.
